Every shirt I have ever bought seems to shrink. No matter how expensive or how cheap. I try washing it in the temperature it says. Then I do not dry them. It doesn't seem to matter. It is so bad I go through my closet and most of my shirts show my stomach. I have even tried buying shirts that are too big.

Unless a garment is labeled 'preshrunk' most of them will shrink. Some shrink more than others because of the material they are made of. Also check and see how to care for the garment. It should tell you both on the tag. Polyester blends usually keep their size pretty well. Check the material contents and percentages before buying a garment. If in doubt, go ask a store clerk or do some research online before buying clothes. If the problem is just your stomach showing, then I would look to finding shirts that are longer, not necessarily just bigger.

Kiwi,
I wash ALL of my clothes in cold water. I also don't put any dress pants or dress shirts in the dryer. I think of it this way - any heat will shrink clothes.
Hope this helps!

Wash all but my whites in cold water and none of my clothes have ever shrunk. Least not that I could tell. They still fit big, just the way I like them to fit.

Maybe its the material they are made off. I would wash them in cold water especially if they are knit, Cold water won't shrink them, but Hot water will,
