I hear you Republicans going after us liberals for buying oil from Venezuela, and I hear you guys saying that any true American would boycott Venezuela. but what I'd like to know is, why should we buy our oil from Saudi Arabia (A theocracy that punishes adulterers, apostates, and homosexuals with death, and whips their citizens for lesser crime) which doesn't elect it's leaders instead of Venezuela which does elect it's leaders, does not kill it's citizens for being apostates, homosexuals, adulterers, or enemies of the government. Which gives it's poor benefits, which is not funding wahabi hate schools that are dishing out "terrorists" fast than any other country.
Abdallah Vs. Chavez, who do you prefer?
Is Saudi Arabia really better then Venezuela?

Saudi has the light sweet crude necessary for gasoline and lighter fuels. Venezuela produces a heavy sour (sulfur rich) crude used more in plastics and heavy fuel oils. We can't chose one or the other, the two provide separate grades of oil. (The Saudi's produce all grades but Venezuela is closer so cheaper to import.)
Some US refineries can crack Venezuelan heavy crude but they are few. The reason oil prices were so high in the US beginning 2003 was the Venezuelan oil strikes that shut down their production for almost 9 months. We cannot rely on them especially as the oil workers are thereatening to strike again.

Citgo for sure. Anyone who can call Bush an Imperialistic Bully, and Condi "missy" gets my vote. The Saudi Prince could probably stop all fighting in the Middle East with a single statement, but remains aloof for what ever reason.

no not really. i boycott Citgo, just so you know. and at this point if i could figure out where Saudi's oil goes, i'd boycott them too.
since we get most of ours from Canada, i'd love to know what company. if you know, please share.
oh and i would answer the question this way: SA is not that much better than Venezuela, but that's only because SA is helping us right now (sorta) and they're not overtly antagonizing us. Chavez is, plus i just do not like that little man.

Saudi Arabia has been price gouging since God created oil, but Citgo recently announced that they were going to discount fuel oil by 40% so Americans would be able to heat their homes. Regardless of politics, Venezuela has my vote.

I dont like Chavez, but then again i dont like the idea of sending my money to Saudi Arabia so they can fund terrorists. Either way you are damned if you do. Citgo is closer to me so i go there.

I love filling the tank at Citgo. I love thinking of the Venezeulan people getting a fair share of their nation's wealth when I buy there. I love thinking about the reduced heating oil prices Chavez provided our citizens.
It never ceases to amaze me that Americans who self-identify as Christians are opposed to a man reducing the inequities and cruelties of life for the Venezeulan people.

Republicans are just p.o.'ed at Chavez because he had the balls to tell everybody in the world what he thought of Bush. You can't tell me the rest of the countries were not thinking the same thing. He just had the balls to do it at the U.N. meetings. Venezuela is much better to its citizen then Saudi Arabia.

saudi had tons of 9-11 links...
Citgo just has a quasi-dictator (and it's not like Saudi doesn't have a dictator)
Saudi is like Venezuela with terrorists...
quite a bit worse if you ask me...
Republicans think they can control them... that didn't work out so well during 9-11...

Both those regimes prove just one thing. We need to get off of foreign oil. The End.

I dont claim any political party but what I do want to say is why do we depend on ANY country for gasoline when we have alternative energy options???? It IS possible to use alternative options but people are so damned greedy for money.
