I am 37 weeks preg. My dr. says I am 2cm dialated and everyone asks if I have had contractions yet. I don't think I have. I do feel the baby move a lot and I have lower back pain etc. But can some one describe in detail what they feel like please?

Contractions feel similar to period cramps , only worse. OUCH!

When you have contractions your stomach tenses up, you will probably feel pain in your stomach, like a cramp, but not necessarily. Your stomach will feel harder than usual. Sometimes the cramps will start in your back. All of this will fill much different from the baby just kicking around.

You know how your menstrual cramps feel? That's what contractions feel like. If you're having what's known as "back labor" you'll have pain in your back that feels like pain that you get before your period starts (really achy and sore). Your stomach will feel like it's tightening and then relaxing.

They hurt like hell, you feel at the moment you can kill anybody that comes in your way...your lower back hurts and also shooting pains to your lower stomach and you're gonna have urge to push and it's living hell, you'll see. I am not trying to scary you or anything i am just describing how was with me and 99.9% of other woman feel..i wish you luck

I was in the same situation, contractions gets your tummy all tightened up and makes you feel crampy, like when you have your period, contractions start too get way worse when your near and in labor. trust me you'll know and definately feel it very soon!

ok..... believe me sweetie you will feel them... back pain is part of it.. when you have full contractions it feels like a bad bad bad bad period.... lots of cramps..... BUT ALL WORTH IT... id do it again in a heart beat.... mine felt like someone was squeazing the inside of my stomach.... and my lower back cramped..

at first it will feel really tight and as they get stronger it'll hurt to move of stand... ever hear the saying it felt like i got kicked by a mule... that is kind of what it reminded me uf

your stomach tighting and cramp like pains. depening on your pain tollerrance the pain may vary.
