Ontario ,Canada and depending on your idea of racism I would say very little compared to the US. I remember being in Atlanta Georgia at the Airport. I had a craving for McDonald's and decided to go get a Big Mac. I arrived at the door, the exact same time that a little girl wanted to go inside as well. So like a gentleman I opened the door for her so she could go first. I couldn't explain why but everyone was giving me weird looks. Turns out people aren't used to a white male opening the door for a black girl to go first. Funny thing is all I saw was a little girl.

:-( I'm in Los Angeles and Racism is Horrendous out here. ;-( recently there has been a huge spike in Black on Hispanic as well as Hispanic on Black crime.

Last Halloween in Long Beach 3 white girls were jumped by over 9 blacks. The whites took them to court and many were charged with a feloney.

In regaureds to the Black on Hispanic crime. Gang activity is on a spike right now. Many Blacks and Hispanics have been shot at thanks to gang activity and the guns.

Mexicans are looked down upon by the mainstream white anglo saxon community out here. The whites around here act very stuck up. They all have a superiority complex about them. They think they are better than everyone else out here just because they are white.

The Gang violence has gotten so bad in this city that the Mayor and Governor has declared it as a state of emergency. High school drop out rates have skyrocketed in the past few months. Many young children never make it to adulthood as they are buried - victimes of gang violence. The drug problem has gotten so bad here and not much has been done about it. And not much can be done about it.

Out here The Whites are treated really bad when they eat at restaurants that are run by Mexicans. They serve the food extra slow and they serve it once it got cold already.

There is a lot of fear and resentment between the whites and Mexicans. The Mexicans and Blacks, and on and on and on.

Very , its not open though. I live in Michigan in the northern suburbs of the Detroit metro area. More like on the outskirts of another smaller city , Pontiac, MI. a lot of older white people who grew up during the 60's are fearful at the very mention of Detroit and won't go down there under any circumstances. There were a lot of race riots during the 60s though.

I'll never forget driving through Pontiac, there was a white kid bumping rap music and my mom called him very 90's term a "wigger " . My mom flipped out if I played any kind of rap.

Back in the 90's when the Fresh Prince of Bel Air was hot my brothers and I wanted to watch it we were at my grandma's house and she turned off the TV and wouldn't let us watch it.

Plus I dated a Mexican guy and I get weird looks from everyone. What I really love is bumping Mexican rap in my car in the summer and see how many people look :)

Yet I not only dated that Mexican guy I also have a child with him , my brother still says **** . He calls my son a 1/2 breed and crap like that.

Eastern Kansas...I edited my question down to nothing from the original answer I gave! When it comes to race there is too much hate in the world for everyone to be pleased where another person lived, which is their God given right to live in this section of town or that and people have to learn to go with the flow and not be so touchy. My aunt who is a pastors wife was not raised around African Americans and would call them the 'n' word and I was about 13 years old at the time I heard her say that and I didn't know what a bigot was at that time but knew what she said to be a hateful term and stated to her in a childish fashion that I wished to never see her again- in all sense I lost respect for her and I was at a impressionable age to where I could of agreed, but I chose to defend my beliefs and it enraged me even further when she said that "their kind....", what about OUR kind of whites that think and go around as the precious chosen race, when God created many races and loves us for our heart not our skin.

People are naive and are afraid of change even little old ladies that say that don't know any better, but they DO know that it isn't right to think that way anymore, but chose not to admit it because of their pride.

When it comes to racism- there is no right or wrong answer until people except others as equals, and I feel that there are a lot that aren't even close to being there...sorry to offend if I did, it's just my opinion.

I live near the nation's capital. The Washington Post has, several times recently, conducted surveys where they call for an apartment using a white person then have a black person show up to see the apartment. Over and over again, the apt. vacancy had been filled before the black person showed up! And, when a white tester came in after, the apartment was back!!! Yikes.

Also, The Post submitted resumes for jobs with 'black names' and identical resumes with 'white names." "white names" overwhelming got the call backs.

That's white against black racism. Then, I see some black people who act very passively aggressive to whites - like ringing them out super slow at the grocers. My foster sister told me she frequently had to tell people from her old neighborhood that not all white people are bad.

On the whole, tho, what I see around here is people of all backgrounds and skin tones working together, going to school together, socializing together. It's encouraging.

I live in South Florida and it is almost non existent! Believe it or not it is super diverese and a lot of kids my age don't seem to care as much about race, I mean there are the rednecks but not that many and I have never really been too much bothered by any racist people, other than some old timers

It's real bad were i live, and it is really bad on here. These kinds of people will eventually destroy themselves anyway and they are their own worst enemy.Deep down they hate themselves anyway. So the Good thing about Racism is that you get nowhere by hating people for the color of their skin.there is only one place you will get,and it is not nice.If God wanted it to be one race here,he would have put one race.So my advice is get over it and learn to love others.I am a born American and i and the rest of us is going to stay that way till the day we Die.

san francisco is a melting pot of all walks of life. you'd be asking for a black eye to admit you're racist in this city.
