I don't smoke marijuana but I DO think that it should be legal! But hey, let's just legalized some botulism and shoot it into our face instead of legalizing a natural herb that actually has some health benefits! (they do prescribe it though in the US but that's about it)

Botox is just as illegal as marijuana. If you went to mexico and bought a box of botox fluid, brought it back to the US and tried to sell it, it would be illegal. You can get botox legally through a doctor, but you can also get marijuana legally through a doctor - in most states.
It is about regulation.

Some contradictions will go unanswered, and probably in your lifetime you will never see the answer. Others have already asked a similar question - "Why is alcohol legal, but Marijuana is not?" Up until now there is no satisfactory answer, unless fear of the unknown counts.

Botox really just makes people look fake and paralyzes muscles but marijuana can damage internal body organs and can make people kill themselves and others. duh
