Someone told me that If a woman gets pregnant by a man who is an alcoholic and is drunk at the time this can cause the baby to be born slow or mentally challenged? I just wanted to know if that is possible because I didn't thank that could happen. Or could the baby be born with fetal alcohol syndrome from the man being drunk and not the woman?

There have been many studies done on this and the general findings are that the male's consumption of alcohol in no way causes fetal alcohol syndrome or any other abnormalities in the fetus. However, having a child by an alcoholic puts that child at risk of being an alcoholic when they get older.

No, it has to be the woman who drinks. Men who do drugs or drink a lot can get deformed sperm, but usually the deformed sperm can't function well enough to get a woman pregnant. Either way though, being drunk at the time of sexual intercourse that results in pregnancy, does not harm the zygote. Pregnancy does not occur right away. It can take days.

No, but alcoholism is hereditary...the baby can only get FAS if you drink.
