so do they average ur gpa overall during ur 9 and 12?

UCs don't count your freshmen grades. My UC GPA was a 3.19. Weighted. A high SAT score makes up for bad GPA and vice versa (to a certain extent). Had some extra currics too. Only applied to UCs, otherwise, my unweighted GPA would have been a 3.4 or so. Never figured out what the weighted GPA was for all 4 years cuz I didn't have to.

I didn't get into Berkeley/UCLA level. Didn't apply to San Diego. Got into the Davis/Irvine/Santa Barbara level on down to Riverside. No Merced at that time, altho that'd just be at the Riverside level.

Yes, they average all four years. Most universities require a decent ACT/SAT score as well as a 2.0 minimum gpa. I forgot what my high school gpa was but it was somewhere in the 3.0 range. I made up for it with a good ACT score.

My GPA when I got accepted was 3.48. It goes on your junior and senior years mostly. Mostly senior.
