Yes, you can string a guitar backwards to play it left handed. I had a friend who did that, and it worked great for him. He was quite a good guitar player. So, go for it..........and have fun! :)

Lets clear this up...Jimi Hendrix did NOT string his guitars left handed. He simply played them upside down.

You CAN string an ELECTRIC guitar left handed by changing the nut and resetting intonation, but NEVER string a right handed ACOUSTIC guitar to be left handed because the bracing inside the guitar will not accomodate the change in string tension even if all else is OK.

it really is available. it truly is how Hendrix did it. try to understand that you ought to regulate your nut to accomadate the thicker strings which will end as a lot as be the position the severe E grow to be. The bridge may also decide on to be checked to confirm if it needs change. * The nut is a small strip of bone, plastic, brass, corian, graphite, chrome metallic, or different medium-difficult cloth, on the joint the position the headstock meets the fretboard. Its grooves education guide the strings onto the fretboard, giving consistent lateral string placement. that is between the endpoints of the strings' vibrating length. It should be appropriately reduce, or it can make a contribution to tuning issues by using thread slippage, and/or string buzz.

I'm a guitarist, yes, depending on the guitar, the nut might have to be modified a little, but thats easy and you can do that yourself, you might need to take it to a shop to get the intonation and bridge height set if you start hearing fret buzz .

Yep! It's a piece of cake, just put the strings on in reverse order, tune it up and play your heart out.
