Getting it checked out is a smart choice for yourself but to calm down any redness on the face no matter what your skin problem is, I highly recommend YELLOW ROSE OF TEXAS corrector powder by COLORE SCIENCE. Colore Science is a mineral based cosmetic line....yellow rose of texas is a redness corrector (soft yellow) powder with SPF20, water resistant and works wonders even on the most irritated skin! Can be used under foundation, over or alone (I like to spot treat areas on clients on brush lightly on areas needed.)
It comes in a retractable dispensing brush tube. Just remember, a little goes a long way!
Another product by colorescience that I use all the time (alone or as a primer) is Line Tamer....here is the product info:
Makes lines smoother, pores look smaller and skin brighter, hydrated and nourished.
Description: Smoothing, Soothing Skin Brightener could be your new secret weapon against aging. This creamy primer color smoothes lines, shrinks pores and brightens skin. It even provides up to SPF 20 to protect the skin from sun damage. Works especially well on rosacea and on hands where aging is most noticeable.
Line Tamer is enriched with tea tree, lavender and tangerine extracts for soothing and antioxidants to protect from free radical damage.
Line Tamer is a pale yellow coloration is that brightens the skin, helping it looked soothed, not stressed, after extractions, glycolic peels, microdermabrasion or other treatments.
Good luck!

Try the rosacea kit from www.murad.com. They have wonderful products for reducing facial redness.
You might also go to www.dermaciatv.com and order some of their makeup. This stuff is wonderful, looks so natural and will cover all the red.
The other option would be a dermatologist, but you may not get any better results than what I've just suggested.

First, I would suggest that you go to a doctor or dermotoligist and find out if there is a reason you have red blotchy cheeks. If everything checks out fine try using Affordable Mineral Makeup. I have redness around my cheeks and nose. I have found that Affordable Mineral makeup covers up this redness. Check out the site under resources.

You should try going to the dermatologist, because it sounds like you could have mild rosacea. If so, there's medicine to treat it. If you don't have that, though, you probably just have naturally rosy cheeks. If that's the case, you should try i.d. bare minerals makeup from sephora. It's really natural and it will cover the redness.

first go to your doctor to see if you have Rosacea or some other dermatological problem. There are good prescriptions for this. Then go to the make-up counter at a nice store, or Merle Norman or Mary Kay. The beauty experts will know what to do. Best Wishes.

Aveeno lotion has a new one out for calming your skin, it has fever few in it and this is used as a relaxant. why your skin is red is not something to be embarrassed about. it is very small veins called capillaries that come to the surface. finish your makeup with a dusting of rice powder, it is very light and transparent. beside look at all the money your going to save on blush. good luck

You really need to read "Rosacea Free Forever" by Laura Taylor (also available in electronic format here: http://www.rosaceafreeforever.info ). It's about how to permanently cure your Rosacea naturally. I cured my Rosacea permanently in only 4 days after reading this.
Stop paying paying each month good money on creams. This is exactly what the pharmaceutical industry wants you to do! They want to milk money from you each month.

Wear a little bit of powder or foundation on your cheeks. Powder if your skin is oily, and foundation if it is dry.
