It is about a girl whose mother dies in India and so she moves back to England with her family. Then she is sent to a girl's boarding school and meets the classic "mean girls" and the nice but poor girl, eventually making friends. It is set in the Victorian era and is a fantasy novel.
But... I'm not telling you the end.
Read the book, it is very good. There's a sequel, "Rebel Angels" and another, "The Sweet Far Thing," coming out in September.
