Why should it matter if the candidate is black or a woman?
Neither deserves a better chance if they base their political platforms on gender or race.
If our choices for political leaders come down to gender or race then we as a nation have reached a sad state indeed.

I'd like to see a first black pres.. but I dont think Americans are ready.. More than likely a first woman. But if Americans could get their A... outta the hole they know a man is more suited for pres. I am not being prejudiced but I think a black should have a chance..Look.. a white has been in there since Washington so why not give a man of color a chance. He couldn't do any worse than some of those white pres. This is my opin. and I AM a white person. Let some other color try to make this country more live able. So far its the pits!!!

I'd say first black president. I'm not voting for Hillary, but it has nothing to do with her gender. However, it seems like people just can't resist stooping to sexist remarks to criticize her. If yahoo Q and A is any indicator, it's clear people are not ready for a woman to be in power.

The one with the best solutions to America's problems will win. Unfortunately, no one running, or potentially running, during the 2008 election, has that quality. Most likely it will be a white male who wins next time. Ask again in 2012.

Honestly, I don't think it matters that much. For me, I would vote based on who I agreed more with on the important issues. I think the country is ready for a black or woman president.

Why America is scared when she did and does supports in other countries these two types. However either one will make America REAL DEMOCRATE. I am in favor of the first woman HILARY CLINTON

A better chance at what? The primaries or the general election?
They've both got a great shot at the primaries....I think Obama might just have what it takes for a general......depends on who his running mate is.

I guess your referring to Hillary and Obama. If Hillary wins the primary, she has a chance to win (which terrifies me). If Obama wins the primary, Democrats have no chance.

Neither. The U.S. isn't ready for either one. Obama and Clinton won't win the Democrat seat to run for president.
