A woman is able to get pregnant for 24-48 hours after she ovulates. A woman can ovulate anywhere from day 10 day 14 after the first day of her last period. Trick is, the sperm can live in the woman for 3 days or as much as 1 week. If you are trying to get pregnant have sex at least every other day (every day worked better for me) from about day 10 to day 16 of your cycle. If you are trying to avoid pregnancy, use a condom.

No you can only get pregnant when you fertile which is 14 days from the first day of your last period if your regular. Your fertile for about 3 or 4 days, but you can get pregnant right before because sperm lives in you for 72 hours. I read somewhere though there is only a 20% each month you can get pregnant though.

Women generally ovulate half way through their cycle. So much for the rhythm method. I know lots of women who became pregnant at other times. Use birth control/condoms.
