I use tide and pretreated everything and I still had some stains. As a pretreater Fels Naptha does seem to work better than anything else, but it is a harsh soap so you may not want to use it on baby clothes right away. I have found that the very best thing to do for all stains from baby poo to spaghetti sauce is taking off the clothes and rinsing the stain as quickly as possible in the sink using baby shampoo. (I started using baby shampoo because I have tons of it and it is always near the sink.) It takes an extra minute, but I haven't had any problems with stains since, so it is worth it in the long run.
