Do you like what you read? Do you associate reading with sleeping? You might as well read before you go to bed. Some people do that. (Just be careful you don't end up staying all night trying to finish a book!!)

Personally I like reading on the train, morning or afternoon. I don't really get bothered by reading in the car, but I find on the commute it makes the time go much faster.

While I worked at a bookstore, I knew lots of people who read during their breaks or over lunch. I preferred to read the newspaper during lunch, but it all depends on what you like to do.

I suggest you try reading at various times during the day and figure out what the best time is for you, schedule wise and enjoyment wise.

My favorite time to read is any time my eyes are open. I have trouble reading when I'm asleep, but I often dream I'm reading. This is bad because I can never finish the book.

Oh, yeah, and I haven't quite figured out how to read in the shower, so I read in the bathtub instead. One of my favorite places, because there are no interruptions (or at least none that I can't ignore), and I know it's time to stop when the water gets cold.

Driving to work is NOT a good time to read a book, unless someone else is driving. And my bosses and co-workers really frown on me reading books at the office except over lunch.

To find the best time for YOU to read, you'll just have to experiment a little. You might find it easier to read different types of material at different times.

My Bible reading seems to go best first thing in the morning. When I'm reading professional journals or work-related books (on finance, client relations, taxation, etc.), I find with or after dinner the best time. That's also the best time if I'm doing some serious personal reading, say biographies or histories. When I'm reading something light, say, science fiction, fantasy, romance novels, mysteries, etc., then right before bed is best.

I always read before I go to sleep. I'm unable to sleep if I don't read. Even when I'm very tired, I read at least a few pages; this is just part of my normal bedtime routine. If I try to skip reading, I can't get to sleep. Then I have to get up, turn on a light and grab a book and read for a longer period of time, to relax myself, than if I had just settled down and read something before I turned off the light.

Well my personal favorite time to read is right before I go to bed... but when I read I read for fun... I just lay in bed and read and when I get tired I stop because I can just go to bed... Reading at night relaxes me and it makes it easier for me to sleep.... But if you ahve to do reading for school or something like that you need to do it in the middle of the day if you can ... between 11 and 2 because then you are not tired from you day already so you can concentrate... and your mind is still sharp enough to remember what you need to know from the story...

I can't read late in the evening. I love to read the paper thoroughly in the morning, but books I prefer mid afternoon or early in the evening. But if it's a real page turner, a few minutes anytime will do.

I agree with Peaches; I like to read in the tub with music in the background.

I have an easier time reading a book after lunch and into the evening, but then I'm not a morning person.

I like to read just before bed, because it makes me tired too and I have trouble sleeping. It's a nice time to relax and help me sleep.

I always read before I go to bed. It's late enough that I'm not interupted by people calling or by the tv (since there usually isn't anything on). It helps me to clear my mind and chill out before I fall asleep.

a lot of people read at night because reading tends to make people tired and then once your done, you are tired enough to fall asleep at an appropriate time
