right now i have a flowmaster super 40 cat-back exhaust system on the my 97 z71, dual in-dual out pipes behind the tires. im saving enough money to get true duals on it and im just wondering how loud will it be if i dump the exhaust? thanx or should i not dump it and just make the pipes come out behind the tire.

You need a certain amount of restriction in your exhaust. Lack of or dumping would result in nothing more than less power and loud noise. A typical 350/5.7L will not make any more power the bigger the exhaust system. A single 3 inch exhaust system would give you the best results.

Pretty loud. So much so that it may not be street legal. Save it for the tracks.
