The poster has like over 20-50 small activities and its more mature and more detailed than that where is Waldo. That style was around well before Waldo. Many times its a picture of a city. The poster sometimes has famous characters.

No it's one big drawn picture that shows a lot of activities. kind of like this one http://www.kottke.org/plus/misc/images/eboy.gif
but much bigger and moee detailed. Their is a name for it and a company that sells these poster art pieces. Its the type of picture where if people pass by it they will sit their and stair at it for at least 1 min because their is so much to see.

are you thinking of maybe a collage? A compilation of pictures that either overlap or blend into each other to form a larger picture, possibly telling a pictoral story.
