I am fairly young (36) but have had a series of health issues. Whenever I go to the doctor they typically want to handle them one at a time and frankly I am growing tired of being poked and proded with little results. Here is the story

I'd appreciate serious answers (as I am sure there are smart alex out there with things to say).

1. At 36 I have prostate issues that cause me to wet my underwear fairly regularly. Not the best thing to happen when at work. Doctors and Urologists seem to be helpless here.

2. I wake up 2 - 5 times a night cause I either have to go pee or take care of my daughter. This leave me too tired to stand often.

3. I have headaches 4 times a week in the mornings again doctors aren't helping.

4. I am getting depressed, I think part of it has to do with health concerns and part of it from lack of sleep.

5. I have a stomach ulcer and indigestion.

I am frustrated with the medical system and don't know how to approach the problem anymore.

Have you had a cystoscope exam? This is a test where they fill your bladder with a contrast dye, and use a fluroscope to watch it drain. It's used to pinpoint problems of urinary retention. Ask your doctor about this.

I don't claim to be an expert but understand your frustration with doctors! In regards to your prostate you need to be examined by a specialist (I know you mentioned a urologist but perhaps a proctologist for an examination). Have you had your blood sugar levels checked? Diabetes Type 2 commonly has symptoms such as constant urination and headaches from when sugar levels drop. As far as your stomach ulcer and indigestion look to your diet. Most of the health problems I used to experience have cleared since changing my diet. An excellent diet to follow is the Great Australian Diet written by Dr John Tickell. Most of all try to remain positive and keep seeking answers and dont take no for an answer! Good luck.

If I were you i'd drink a whole heck of a lot of water and cranberry juice if it doesn't bother your ulcer. And don't drink anything after 9
or 10:00. When you get depressed, look at your daughter and know that she doesn't have time for you to be depressed 'cause you're the daddy, her hero, her savior and probably her everything
and her limited intellect tells her that whatever the problem is, daddy will help her with it or solve it. Take a nap during the day to catch up on sleep loss, while your little girl is in school or daycare.

Because I am not a physician, I will not recommend anything, other than to see an homeopathic doctor or someone who practices ayurvedic medicine. And because I don't know where you live, I can't recommend one, but try to do your research to find a doctor who doesn't treat w/ drugs that is close to you ... I personally do not have faith in medical doctors who I feel conspire w/ the pharmaceuticals to see you, feed you with drugs (which only causes side effects, which in turn make you come back for more "treatment" and they they feed you w/ more drugs) ... it's all about making money, not figuring out the root of the problem & solving it. I hope you can find someone who can help you! I wish there was something I can do or say to make it better, but I am not qualified to do that.

My brother had prostate surgery and was incontinent afterwards. His doctor gave him exercises to do that helped it, but it doesn't help with everyone. It sounds like you have a perplexing assortment of symptoms and each one in a different medical specialty. I would switch to a different family doctor, or go to an internal medicine doctor for starters. Maybe they can sort some of this out for you. Your family doctor should be able to address the ulcer and indegestion problems and also prescribe an antidepressant. If not have him refer you to a psychiatrist.

Wow, I am sorry to hear about all that. Depression starts when you start giving up and when you dont feel good all the time.

I really have not great advice for you other than I feel terrible no one is helping. I would do some reseach and go on to health boards and express your concerns and whats going on with you.

I know you can't be the only one dealing with this. If I hear of anything I'll let ya know.
