I think we still have a long way to go because we don't have an open line of communication betwee whites and blacks and unfortunately decisions about each other are made because of images from the media. How do we get people to open up to one another?

I live in Auburn, AL, and you pose a very good question. I am not originally from here, but have lived here for several years, so I do know that this problem is far reaching. In other words, it goes way beyond the South. I happen to have friends of many races from several countries. How/Why? I've no conclusive answer, but all of my friends have one common thread, and that is music. We love jazz and blues. This gives us a foundation to build upon. Lots of great communication comes from music. Also, education comes in many forms. I am educated at university, while my husband doesn't have a high school diploma. Some of our friends are like my husband, and some have doctorate degrees. My point is this: We are all educated in different areas, and we all have something to teach another. What better foundation than to begin with music.

Race relatives ought to absolutely be quieter and larger actual dealt with if Al Sharpton wasn't so publicly fascinated with an aggressive racial way. It upsets me the way Al Sharpton makes use of faith as a base for his biased evaluations and receives away with a lot hatred, threats, and criticism of the white race in long island. I have relatives whom stay in long island city, and that i understand how difficult their lives are. when I got here residing house from a funeral there, I cried for a week, becauise of the consistent noise, the conflict for wide-spread issues, how careful try to be. the position you may save, and the position you may not. Which block to stroll, and which block "they" will come once you later in case you walk their block.. Their isn't any position to socialize for the clhildren, the rooftops, now and again. they don't have it any better effective than any of Al Sharptons people, and each and every time he speaks about how undesirable his race has it, and how each body has to tiptoe about him and his people, and watch each syllable they ever say, this "jerk" Al Sharpton is worse than Idi Amin, and is abusing his proper to stay in u . s . a .. i do not use his non secular identify, i do not imagine he advantages one. I despise Al Sharpton, and that i'm conservative. i do not imagine Jesse Jackson is such someone, and that i'm speaking from many years in the past. i have not paid too a lot interest to his speeches those days, and can't remark. I did imagine he ought to strengthen added politically than he did. i have not talked about the hatred in his speeches, or his being overly biased antagonistic to different races, thanks.

How do you improve race relations between blacks & whites? As long as blacks are going to continue to steal, murder, lie, & keep asking for handouts, it's not going to happen. Check back w/in the next 2 or 3 hundred thousand years, perhaps they will have evolved, or become extinct.

There is no need to improve them. There is no way there will ever be amity between the races, face it. The best solution is to separate them. Throwing money at the inner city will solve nothing.

Here is a solution. Get to the root of the problem. We are spending too much time looking for a temporary remedy to the racial problems. The hate crime bills and harsh sentences are good ideas. However, we need to stop listening to the media all the time and go into the communities ourselves and get to the heart of the problems because sometimes the problems of today could be a continuation of problems of yesterday.

Stop listening to the media and assumptions you may have heard about another race and just talk and get to know one another.
