Can I still be pregnant if the test is negative (have a "false negative")? In a word, yes. You could be testing too early (before your baby is making enough pregnancy hormone to be detected by the test.) And some women (this is fairly rare, but possible) never get a positive urine test even when they're definitely pregnant (for some reason the hormone doesn't make it into their urine.) I have a friend who didn't get a positive HPT until 25 DPO! (With her second baby, a test at 23 DPO was negative . . . but a test on 30 DPO was positive. Oddly enough, with #3, her positive test came at only 12 DPO.) If you get a negative test but think you might be preggo anyway, wait a couple of days (giving the hCG hormone time to build up) and try again. It's not over until the fat lady sings-- and your period crashes the party.
If you are not monitoring your fertility in any way (OPK's, charting cervical mucus or basal temperature, ultrasounds) it becomes extra-tricky. There are two parts to every menstrual cycle: from the start of your period to ovulation, which can vary quite a bit in length, and from ovulation to your next period, which is usually consistent in length. (This second half is known as the "luteal phase," and the normal range is 10-16 days. It's normal for your typical luteal phase to vary by a day or two. For example, mine is normally 11 days, but 10 and 12 are not unheard of either. I have also had a couple of longer ones by total fluke.)
Because ovulation can happen at any time, it's possible your egg was delayed for some reason (stress, illness, travel, excitement.) This doesn't mean your period is actually "late" (it could arrive within the normal 10-16 days after ovulation), but rather than your entire cycle was delayed due to a later-than-usual ovulation.

I had a hard time with pregnancy test, they kept saying negative when I was really pregnant. But as my doctor told me... if they say positive there's a 99% chance you are pregnant, If they say negative there is still a 50% chance you're positive. Go buy some more test or try going into a clinic. The anti- planned parenthood, or anti-abortion clinics never have a wait.
P.S. When my sister was pregnant the only test that came up positive for her were the ones from the dollar store.

Yes, you definitely could be pregnant. It could be too early to tell as well as a false test. Blood test is the only sure way to know right now.
Your period could be late related to all you've been through as well. You had anesthesia, also probably all sorts of medicines, and I know major stress made my period late.
General anesthesia and pain meds slow your intestines down, so it could be causing other changes in there.
In case you are pregnant, be very careful if you are still taking any meds related to your surgery, or anything else.
You probably know the first 3 months of pregnancy are the most important as far as anything you take possibly causing damage to a baby. [meds, smoking, alcohol]
I hope you get the result you want in the end. Good luck!
My 2 cents -
If you are pregnant, please try to breast feed. Sometimes it's difficult they say with implants, but oh so important to give a baby those antibodies that will protect throughout life. You can't buy anything that good.

Yes, it's possible you could be pregnant even though the test came out negative, when I took a home pregnancy test I was wrong and said negative when I actually was pregnant.
Your operation and diet may also have effected your cycle. Go to the doctor to make sure.

Even tho the home test said that you wasn't you. It's better off as getting another one. Couple of females have 5 done to make sire they aint, or are. It never hurts to take a couple of them. 3 home. One at Plan peranthood and another at the doctors or any other way. Just make sure you take the results in to your doctors if one says or not and one does. they can always can do a aulter sound to make sure

you can definitely still be pregnant. If you're not ready to go to the doctor yet, I would wait a few days and test again. Try it first thing in the morning. If still negative then, I would check with a doctor.

You could be pregnant. Home tests are not 100% accurate. The best way to find out is to go to your doctor. It's fast and easy and you'll have peace of mind.
