why are liberals so hateful?

liberals tout themselves as being champions of human rights and defenders of freedom and equality and the "do gooders" of society who stand for everyone's freedom of speech and expression.

sorry liberals i just don't see it. go to any college campus and say something even vaguely conservative and you will receive death threats, verbal & physical assaults, or a failing grade. the columbia incident is a perfect example. when the minutemen were giving a speech, liberals rushed the stage and assaulted the speaker. on message boards, all i see out of liberals is name calling and hate spewing towards anyone who disagrees with your secular leftist worldview. your icons are thugs and murderers like che mao pol pot stalin castro, mandela, mugabe, mumia, and tookie. and worst of all, you support the slaughter of 45 million unborn babies that's over seven times as many as hitler. you can say "well conservatives do yadda yadda " but you can't deny that libs aren't hateful. your actions prove it.

Liberal = we do what we think is right for us, not what is right for you. This is why Rosie O'Donnell can have a "I hate guns" view but pay a body guard to Carry one. It is why The news media hates Fox for reporting the news, while they report opinion, trumped up stories and lies as fact. It is why there are more hate crimes in California than any other state, it is why racial issues were more prevalent in Detroit and LA than in the deep south yet the stereotype of the south still exist. It is why Jessie Jackson can race bait and say whatever he wants but a Coach in Alabama uses the term "coon ***" to describe people in Louisiana {which applies to black, white, Cajun whatever} and the media is all over it. The same reason "free speech" is the liberal by word until that speech is about Jesus Christ then it is "separation of church and state." Liberals are much more kin to Nazis than Conservatives, {look up where the whole abortion movement in the 1920's got its roots!} yet let a Conservative say something a liberal does not like and he is a Nazi.

Go to anywhere and say something even vaguely liberal or object to the administeration handling of anything and you will receive death threats, verbal & physical assaults, or a failing grade or visit by authority imposers. The Carter incident is a perfect example. when he expressed the world's feeling for the injustices being done to the Palestinians , conservatives and neo-conservatives rushed to malign him. On message boards, all I see out of conservatives is name calling and hate spewing towards anyone who disagrees with their worldview. Your icons are thugs and murderers like Kissinger, Nixon, current administration leadrers . and worst of all, you support the slaughter of million of born babies through illegal embargos over Iraq and many other places in the world, killings of many innocent civilians in wars started by lies just like Hitler. you can say "well liberals do yadda yadda " but you can't deny that neo-conservatives and some conservatives are hateful. your actions prove it.

but to what you said... have you been to a college campus? it would seem you have not, since I've been to several and I've never seen any of the things you mention...

sure... there are the rare examples of young fools doing foolish things... like at Columbia... but these are few and far between... 25 people don't mean millions are hateful...

to support your idea you would need hundreds of citations for the hundreds of colleges and hundreds of activities that go on there... and those just don't exist...

and no ones icons are pol pot, Stalin, Castro, Mugabe and more... this is where you're getting a little out there away from reality... you can't cite this? even saying we support dictators is pretty hateful in its self... clearly...

but, Mandela? you really think he's on that list? guess you really had to bite your tongue to keep Dr. King off the list... didn't you? Ghandi too?

but it really all comes down to... both parties are made up of many people... some are hateful... it's simply the laws of probability... I don't think either party is more inclined to be hateful...

Just because you have an ideal, it doesn't mean it's easy to live up to. When I was younger, I was quick to judge, but I've mellowed out. Hating takes up too much energy! You sound like you've been hurt, not listened to, misinterpreted, and now you're striking back. I try to listen to people's views that are different from my own, but if they're yelling, it's hard to do. I've seen bad behavior and violent behavior exhibited by people who say they are doing what they think is right...but I think violence can be very difficult to justify.

You know in your heart that both liberals and conservatives find the actions of hitler and stalin and pol pot to be dreadful. They are no one's icons. Of course responsible people, both liberal and conservative, will not condone death threats, or assaults, or name-calling. Those are the actions of a few, not the many.
Not all conservatives or liberals are hateful, but of course, some are; but many aren't. Maybe you could focus on the quiet, but responsible non-violent majority?

You generalize liberals and insult an entire group.
Go to any college campus? I pick Houghton, Trinity, and Gordon. I bet conservative statements will be regarded with open arms. If you refer to the majority of schools, I wonder where your "failing grade" stat comes from? If you fail, take it to the director of the program, and then to the dean. If your work is just a bunch of rambling complaints without sources (much like your present one), you deserve to fail.
Conservatives are just as bad. Look at the group that tours the nation so they can support the deaths of American soldiers, claiming America is too good to homosexuals. By your token, I could generalize that to say all conservatives would be this disrespectful. But it's not true. Many conservatives oppose the group, just as many liberals oppose assaults on speakers.
As for name calling and hate-spewing, don't so something you dislike (i.e. compare all liberals to Hitler). The "icons" listed need some justification. Add "icons" of the conservatives as well. I especially take offense to the Tookie reference. He did wrong by creating the Crips. But have you read his protocol for peace? It will blow your mind away...moreso because it actually works.
45 million unborn babies? Slaughter? Unborn babies are not actually alive. They are potentially alive. That's all I'm saying about abortion...the argument could go on for pages.
I agree with you on one point: Libs are hateful.
But so are conservatives. I once read someone compare a group of people (ones that oppose the invasion of small countries) to Hitler.
In the future, pick one idea and argue it. One. And remember: raw generalizations suck.

Hate? It is Conservatives that are sooooooooo quick to label those that don't agree with their ideals (or their President) as immoral, anti-American, or otherwise. From Rush, to Fox, to Ollie North, etc, there is a CONSTANT push of the mean-spirted rhetoric against those that don't worship at the altar of fundamental christian conservatism. "Liberal" is the new "ni@@er", the way it leaps out of SOME conservatives' mouths with such distain and bitterness.

And consider this: Since 1980 (27 years and counting) the Reagan-esque form of Conservatism and the Republicans have been in power ('80-'88, Reagan---'88-'92, Bush--- '92-'00, Democractic President w/both houses of Congress under Conservative Republican control, and drug addict hypocrites like Rush Limbaugh were at an all-time high in popularity spewing the Conservative Dogma on televison and radio (Hell, he can almost single-handedly take credit for making liberal a bad word)----'00-'08 G.W.Bush and both houses of Congress, up until a couple of months ago).

So how much LONGER are we supposed to give the "poor, picked-on" Conservative/Republican point of view a try? Christian conservatives gave you guys your "moral center" a few years ago,(a gimmick that a lot of you guys are still holding on to) but Conservatives are now some of the most mean-spirited, no-apology elitists around. You speak of wanting government small and unobtrusive in your business ventures and money, but immediately contradict yourself and want government to regulate what people do in their private lives (abortions, gays in military/marriage, etc).

Political debate with a hard line conservative is almost non existent, its almost like a college football game, you are on one side or the other, with no middle ground. This has produced a level of animosity in politics that has, and will continue to, drive people further and further apart.

Liberals hate the haters, but a majority of them fail to realize the hypocritical nature of their hate. I myself have generally liberal views, but I'm open to conservative ideology. The way I see it is this, liberals and conservatives both have targets of hate, but for different reasons. Liberals hate ignorance, labelling, and biased judgement, but many tend to ignorantly label any judgement that they disagree with as biased. Conservatives tend to hate groups of people that are different and unusual. In the end most conservatives hate liberals and most liberals hate conservatives. It's silly when you think about how much of a big deal this conflict has made on the world stage, when after all the two schools of thought are both well intended and sought after in the name of American freedom. But to say liberals hate or conservatives hate, just isn't fair in the end. Human nature is to judge, but to judge is not a humane thing to do.

You only see what you want to see. I'm a liberal and I only get hateful when someone is hateful toward me---like sending billions of dollars that could have gone to fix American problems to Iraq with no way to trace it after the fact, or sending our young men and women into a "war" without the necessary protection, and with no clear enemy.

Actually, I'm a pretty nice person until you start hurting others!

According to yahoo terms, they cannot insult or offend you in any way.....you can report them. I was reported to yahoo for for insulting others.....and all I said was "move", others said far worse than i did, but my post was removed. I don't really care, but I have learned that unless you answer with a liberal point of view.....your freedom of speech rights will be taken away from you, because certain ppl cannot handle the truth, and see that the truth in insulting to them, even though you have a majority that supports you.
