as a Muslim I find it sick. perhaps its a cultural thing, Ive not seen a hadith saying its fard ( mandatory )

I read the Quran, and there is nothing in it that recommends this behavior. I believe there is mention of male circumcision (as in the Old Testament) but nothing about females. Most Muslims don't do this. Some African tribes have done this for 2000 years, before Islam began. I don't think Islam is to blame for this; but ignorance, superstition and poverty are. It seems like when a group of people are in the depth of ignorance, the abuse of women becomes an accepted practice. The ancient Arabs before Mohammed killed most of their baby girls, and this practice is condemned in the Quran.

This is not an Islamic practice, its more of a cultural practice in some Muslim countries.

Male circumcision still happens in the United States...who are you to say that they are wrong.
I disagree with BOTH practices.

I think it's a brutal crime and those that commit it should die a slow painful death...
