There are self adhesive lampshades available. All you have to do is peel off the protective covering and apply your fabric. Nothing could be simpler. Do a web search. There are loads of sites available. Some craft stores also offer these shades.

Pat C is right, self adhesive. I saw some at Wal*Mart.
