no all babies hit their milestones at different ages he may totally skip crawling altogether and go straight to walking my daughter was 6 months when she crawled and 10 months when she walked but she didn't get her first tooth till she was 8 months all babies are different!!! i wouldn't worry about it right now, now if he's 17 months and still not crawling or walking, i would worry but not until then!! try helping him lay him on his tummy and put his legs under him and put him in push up position, put a toy out of his reach and cheer him on to go for it that will help good luck!!

My 12 year old did not crawl until late, and he took his first step at 16 months old!! He rolled over late and sat up late.
12 years later, he just came home from Tae Kwon Do, and reads on above a 12th grade level and has for years.
He was just a laid back baby. Like a previous answer says, if he is alert and reaches and kicks, etc. he is probably fine. I did have a friend who was an occupational therapist look at him when he was delaying all these things. The doctor can check certain reflexes and muscle things to give reassurance, or refer you to an occupational therapist if he doesn't feel comfortable evaluating this.
Not crawling alone is not anything to worry about.

I wouldn't wish it before it happens cuz when it does you'll be wondering where the gool ol' days are when all they did was lay there all sweet and innocent. All babies are different. More than likely there isn't anything to worry about. If you start to notice something that seems wrong talk to your doctor. I had not crawl till she was 10 months and my 2nd was walking by 8 months. Enjoy him while he is young cuz they grow up so fast!

I wouldn't worry, all babies do things at their own rate. My daughter is 8 months old and doesn't crawl yet either, but she will pull herself up to standing whenever she is able! Just give him lots of tummy-time and he will crawl when he's ready.

You have NOTHING to be worried about. I started walking months before crawling because my mother was always holding me up by my hands or armpits, "walking" me through the movements and getting me used to balancing w/o the side effects of walkers (or exersaucers now).
Have fun!

agree with most others who said all babies are different and do their own thing when they are ready! my daughter didn't start crawling until nine months, and only the 'commando style' with her stomach on the ground. she is nearly eleven months and still does the same thing. don't worry, he will do it when ready, or may even skip it and go straight to walking. enjoy

Well, assuming that he does more than just lie like a log, he's fine. He'll get there soon, and you'll be wishing for the days he wasn't so mobile.
