Just wondering if anyone still has something that was special to them in childhood and will be passing it along to their own child?

When i was about six months old i was given a soft toy (a mouse).
It was my favourite toy ever. I carried that toy around like a baby through out my whole childhood (and being the creative child that i was i named it "Mousey"! lol).

I'm 26 and i still have that loveable toy! lol. Still in pretty good condition too (given how old it is). I've washed it and it is now sitting in my baby's nursery - awaiting the arrival of its new owner.

Did you pass something along to your child? Or am i just strange for holding on to a toy for all these years?! LOL

I think what you're passing on is really sweet. You aren't strange at all! Don't be sad if your baby doesn't revere it as you did, but when he/she is older, it will have a special meaning.

Yes. I have a few baby blankets that I passed to my daughter when she was a baby. I also had some (very pretty!) dresses that were mine that she wore. She also has a little rocking horse and a chair that were both mine.

My mom had passed on all of our baby clothes to a friend of hers. When I had my son she sent me two outfits that had been my brothers, and when I had my daughter she sent my clothes that used to be mine.

My husband has passed down a little teddy bear to our son. I have a little wall hanging of a child praying that was in my room that is now in my children's room.

my husband had a stuffed bear...someone gave it to him when he was an infant. when his mother found out we were pregnant she sent us that bear! it's very beat up, and missing an eye. but it's SO sweet to think that my baby can play with his daddy's baby toy. although, it's still hanging out of reach in my son's room. i guess I'm kind of afraid of it getting beat up even more. but i feel good knowing it's there.
