Deff. the metal ones. Like this: http://www.your-cosmetics.com/images/utowa_eyelash_curler3.jpg
But make sure they have those black rubber things where it touches your lashes, or it'll be unhealthy and theyll look crimped. &thats not good. :)
I bought mine last year at walmart for 3 dollars, so pretty inexpensive for something thatll last awhile.
oh &when you do use it, make sure you dont just hold it in one spot for a long time. It will look bent and unnatural. &that too, is not good. make little bounces lasting about 2 seconds, from the root of the lashes to the tips.

Most eyelash curlers work effectively and can be purchased from chemists or priceline/price attack stores. They usually cost between AU $5 - $30.
Try using a metal one and curl in 3 sections, at the base of the hairs, in the middle and at the ends. Hold the curler in place for 5 seconds at each point.
For a prominent curl apply one coat of mascara first and once it has set then curl the lashes and then apply another coat of mascara to finish it off and to hold the curl.

first, make sure you use mascara when you use an eyelash curler. second, get a metal one not a plastic one. third, sephora is a really good place to get an eyelash curler. at sephora they will usually cost about $13 but they work better than any other eyelash curler ive used. there is also curlers for upper lashes and bottom lashes at sephora. the ones for the bottom lashes are less expensive but will not work for upper lashes. they are two seperate curlers.

Shu Uemura is the best eye lash curler. Sephora carries them and has one like it under their own label. Price range $15-20.

you can get one for about 5 bucks but you are better off using a mascara that curls your lashes, because the curlers can sometime pull your lashes out

they work with your face shape. the price ranges from 0.99$ to 15.00$ i guess...the best are from sephora. buy the full ones which are curvy, and then start from the very BASE of your eyelashes (BECAREFUL! might pinch) and sqeeze the handle thingy for about 10 secs, then apply mascara. NEVER apply mascara first then curl, because the mascara might stick to the curler and you might pull off your eyelashes(ouch)
