Im 15 weeks pregnant, last doctor appointment was on the 31st and my blood pressure was a lil high but I had just been scared out my mind before my appointment (a pratical joke by my baby's father) and the nurse had asked me did i rush to the appointment asking because it was a lil high so i just associated it with the scare. But anyway to get to the question, I have been having pains in my side the past couple of days and very bad headaches, I have one now thats out of this world. I have also been feeling really sick to my stomach and I thought the headaches were hunger pains and I've been eating and nothings changed, I have also been getting alot a rest but still nothing. I was just wondering if this has happened to any of you mothers out there and if so what was wrong?

Also my next appointment is on the 28th and I plan on asking then whats wrong, but I would like opinions if you think I should ask sooner

When I was pregnant, I called the doctor with anything that was worrying me. If you're worried about something and it doesn't resolve quickly, it's worth a call to the doctor, just to ease your mind. Don't wait -- it's probably nothing, but you shouldn't have to wait 3 weeks to find out that it's nothing.

High blood pressure does not usually cause any symptoms. Most people do not know they have it until they find out at a doctor's office. Only if you are having a high blood pressure "crisis" (dangerously high), you might have symptoms. If you were told it was a little high, I'd say the headaches are not related. Perhaps you are getting migraines - ask you doctor if you are worried about it.

I have high blood pressure myself, which I developed after having my baby. Before I got pregnant, it was on the low side of normal. I don't get headaches any more now than I did before.

I'm not sure if this could be what is going on with you, but when i was about 15 weeks I started getting horrible headaches also. Now that I have gone to the dr. multiple times and to the hospital, they have diagnosed me with migraine headaches. Apparently this is somewhat common in women who are pregnant due to all of the bodily changes. There are medications your dr. can prescribe or recommend for you.
You may want to get seen by a dr. sooner than your next appt because you may actually have some sort of hypertension (preclampsia). A side effect of it are horrible headaches.

Either way I'd see a dr. They can help with the pain and diagnose you more thoroughly.

Hey girl...

I would go ahead and call your doctor and tell them what is going on. Headaches can be a symptom of high blood pressure. I promise you the Dr. and nurses are not going to think poorly of you if you call with questions, even if they turn out to be nothing. I would err on the side of being an already protective momma than one that just lets it slide. Good luck to you... and call tomorrow just to let them know what is going on.

Call your doctor now. They should have someone on call to answer your questions. If you can't reach anyone, go to your local grocery store and check your blood pressure on the automated machine. If your blood pressure is even more elevated, go to the emergency room if you can't contact your physician. If the top number is over 200 or the bottom number is over 115, go to the emergency room anyway.

It could be a something simple like a virus you picked up or it could be serious like HELLP syndrome, but get it checked out asap.

I always called my OB when I had a concern and never waited for the next appointment. Most hospitals have nurse advice lines and you can even call the L&D and speak to a nurse there if it is after hours. Best to call and ask than to wait.

PLEASE call your dr's office... if nothing else, they will tell you what you can take for a screaming pregger headache. It will ease your mind since your symptoms could be attributed to a myriad of things and your doc will be able to help you!!!

Good luck and call the doc!!! dont feel bad for calling tonight either, babies are notorious for getting born or getting sick outside of business hours (i think they know how to tell time in utero, mine only gave me scares at 10pm or later)

I would call a Doctor soon as you can. Is their one on call you could speak with? Everything you listed is a symptom for Preeclampsia which is nothing to mess with. It can harm you and your baby!
