trying to force an American style democracy on a bunch of third world wackos?
Why or why not?

cause the way I see it, when we are "finished" over there, we will still have the broken borders and the vulnerabilities that we have now except with thousands of Americans dead and upward or possibly over 1 trillion dollars later here.

The only answer that you that support this can possibly have is "well It wasnt supposed to be like this, but now that it is we must finish" and that to me is nothing short of pure incompetence within the "leadership"

You will have plenty of 'yes' men answering you but I fail to see how spending all that money here on the things mentioned will keep our enemies from growing ever larger and more menacing. How would that keep our enemies from engaging in warfare (terrorism)? Or did you think offering them free health care was going to solve the problem?

Whether we are flushing money down the toilet or fighting terrorists in Iraq is dependent on your point of view. Are we doing a good thing getting rid of a dictator who killed thousands like Hitler, and was eventually planning for WMDs, or our we the ones oppressing the Iraqis and giving other countries time to develop the nukes. I'd like to say we were doing a good thing over there, but we've also been distracted from elsewhere in the world.

No, because

1) The Iraqi oil fields are worth trillions of dollars, and

2) destroying Iraq, and genociding the Iraqi population with our soldiers pleases our lord israel.

Yes. Not only could we have done wonders in education, medical care, and the immigration problem, but we would not have alienated so much of the rest of the world and presented ourselves as bad guys.

It doesn't matter what answers appear on this page. The only ones that you are going to pay attention to are the ones that agree with you.
Maybe you should move to Iraq, since you sympathize with terrorists so much.

That is my opinion as well....Sure up our borders and protect the US. Forget about the rest of the world unless we have UN backing
