I think rudeness comes with timing. It all depends on the mood of someone when the situation takes place. If you are annoyed before you go to the grocery store and you have to stand in line for more than 5 minutes, you may be rude to the cashier. Everyone is rude from time to time. I don't consider myself to be a rude person, however, I am when I am annoyed.

What you see as rudeness might be because they are in a hurry to close when you leave, or to go to lunch or a meeting, or to the bathroom.
Or it might be that they are just naturally blunt, and don't mean any rudeness - it's just their style of dealing with people.
Or it might be that they have tried to get a point across politely, but it doesn't seem to be getting through, so they are being more blunt and plainspoken in hopes of getting your attention, so that you understand your point.

I would ask if impatience leads to being rude. If someone is rude to me, I will call them out on it very quickly. I have been as blunt as to say "Are you always this rude or have I offended you somehow". A lot of times people are taken back by this, reconsider their attitude, apologize and display better behavior.

I hate rude people and I can not answer the question the way you asked it, sorry.
If somebody is rude to me I ask them why! They usually walk away mumbling under their breath. I have not found one person that will tell me why they are so RUDE!!!
They walk away mumbling or run like I am going to assault them!
Always confront a RUDE person, they do not expect it! It will crack you up to see the response!!
