I grew up on Long Island, N.Y. -& I've never gotten the salt out of my blood since moving away- 30 years ago. The Ocean is a place of "reverence" to me, because ultimately- it's where all life came from, and where all things end up. Whenever I return East for a visit, I go out to Montauk Point for a day, & embrace the sounds, scents, sights & power of the Ocean... That done, -I can head back inland- my spirit refreshed, & my heart reassured.

I love the ocean. Its what I see every time I look out my living room window. It is wild on times and calm other times. Its fun to play in and on when it freezes.I love watching the tide going in and out.It carries lots of interesting sights. We see seals, ducks, sea gulls and loons. We see lots of boats, seadoo's,canoes, kayaks and many other things just floating around. It is a beautiful sight day and night. I especially love seeing the moons reflection on a calm winters night. The white caps are fascinating when it is windy. There is so much life in the ocean. It makes me feel so alive.Anyway, I have gone on long enough. Hope you enjoy reading my thoughts.

It has a swift pattern on the surface that makes you believe that it can be controlled, beared, but in the depths, the part you do not see is a whole nother world of equal complexity. You just have to look past the surface.

It's VERY WET!!! Now, beyond that stupid humor, I think it's a world of it's own, as unique as the surface of the moon, and as "delicate", and yet as awesome and deadly as you can possibly imagine. I'm not sure what kind of details you want, so, I can only recommend you watch certain programs on tv or read about it. God Bless you.

I don't live by the ocean but have spent vacations by the atlantic. I always enjoy watching the waves and swimming, don't like the undertow though.
