Oh wow this sounds exactly like my situation was. Ok well i became really good friends with a girl and from the beginning i liked her. I wanted to ask her out but i didn't want to get rejected and didn't know if she liked me back so i didn't ask her for two years. I finally got the balls to ask her and she said yes!!! It turns out that she liked me for just as long and felt the same as i did. So my advice is to just tell him you like him, and put the ball in his court. It will be really hard for you to remain just friends with him when you have these feelings so you should tell him and see if it turns in to something like what i have. (we are still together to this day) Hope it works out

Well, my best advice is to tell him. I've been in the situation with liking a best guy friend. I think he likes you 2, but he doesn't think "you" feel the same way. So, he can only show his feelings sometimes. Why don't you make the first move??Don't be afraid. Maybe it's the best thing 2 do.That's the best way I can explain what I'm trying 2 say. Wouldn't you be upset if he got a g/f?? I'm PRETTY SURE he would be mad with if you got a b/f also. But neither of you have the right to be angry because you never expressed the way u felt about each other. So,....Good Luck!

Be honest with him. You have been friends for a long time. Just tell him, it's eating you apart if you don't. You'd tell him one day when it got too much - get it over with and tell him now.
Good Luck!
By the way, I'm in a relationship where i love my bestest friend and i told him after about a year. He says he only wants to be friends but every now and then he brings it up and I know he's impressed that I'm in love with him. I think it actually brought us closer. And I feel so much better that I have told him.

The best thing is to stay friends and don't cross that line. Cause once you become lovers and not friends that mess up the whole relationship and there don't be any friends after that. So, you have to really think about it. Are you prepare to loose this guy forever by being friends to try to become lovers? Is it worth loosing someone that knows you good for that?

if he is as good of a friend as you say he is he wont hold it against you wether he likes you or not and if hes a decent person he will respect you for being honest with him and if you dont feel as though you can tell him face to face then write him a letter
i gave the same advice to my neice when she had the same problem and she has been seeing her best frind for 2 years now!

I'm in the same situation right now. Just tell him how you feel, if he's anything like my friend, it won't bother him and he'll act just like he did before. And if he likes you, he won't be as afraid to tell you. I sounds hopeless and I know that you might feel that way right now, but this worked for me. I'm more comfterble around him now, and he's more comfterble around me.

from my experience...you've been friends to long to start a relationship as the way you want....will only confuse him...if it happens so be it but i've never known one to last very long and the friendship is gone as well...just stay friends and the same ole same ole day things keep as they are

just tell him. ''i been wanting to tell you something..'' then say how you like him, what you like about him. and all that. tell him that you still want to remain friends after you say it.
your just like me. my boyfriend and i were in the same situation.
im pretty sure he does like you. or else why would he talks to you like a bestfriend and argue about little things.

Don't tell him, he'll freak out and you won't be friends anymore.
