My son is 6 months old and i noticed a few days ago that he has little bumps under his chin. they are not red or irritated and he doesn't seem to be bothered by them. Anyone knows what it could be??? possibly a rash from drooling or maybe an allergic reaction???

It's probably from drooling, or maybe even a slight irritation from a bib or something. The doctor I work for sees this alot in kids from newborn up until about one year. They are like pimples, but not red I am assuming...put a little Eucerin lotion...the cream that is thicker on it a couple of times a day. It's similar to the rash we get when us nurses wash our hands too much...and Eucerin is safe for babies. I wouldn't worry about it at all unless it gets really red, or you notice him reaching towards it, or if they do start to look more like red pimples. The Eucerin cream should do the trick! Good luck! You sound like a great mommy to worry so much! He's lucky to have you!

P.S. It happens alot more in the winter, having a humidifier in his room or by where he sleeps might help too. That way the skin won't be so easily irritated.

Good chance it is a rash from drooling or rubbing against a damp bib or shirt collar. My daughter gets this as well. Almost impossible at this age to keep a dry bib on her with all that drooling.

I want to say he is drooling alot but everyone has said that so it could also be baby acne. Some babies do get it and they are little bumps they never get white or black head or puss but they still call it baby acne.

I'n not sure where you are from but son got those in the spring and summer from drooling. The doctor said it was like a heat rash from his drool.

theyre called milk bumps and are typically caused by drool or formula dribbling out of the mouth. Theyre quite normal and painless for the most part, A&D ointment helps considerably on reducing their numbers.

Ask your doctor, but it will probably go away on it's own. Have you changed detergents or soap lately? Ity may be that he is drooling and giving him infant acne.

My son gets that when he's teething from all the drooling. It should go away if that is what it's from.

is he getting teeth do you leave his bibs on? It could just be that he is drooling and the moisture is not letting his skin breathe. just make sure that his clothes and bib are dry and wipe all the spit and drool off of his face and it should clear up

babys get a lot of rashes. normally a reaction or irritation, but if they are not red it opens a lot of possibillities. could be molluscum. better have a doc check, impossible to tell without more info or seeing them/picture

Could be rash from drooling as you said or it may be Exema (sp). My daughter has this, but it's on her cheeks.
