Why is he always mean to me?

I am 13 There is this guy in my class who is nice to me sometimes then mean to me but he just plays I mean at lunch today he told me to shut up for no reason while I was talking to my friends he is always tripping me up Could this be a sign of anything and he told me I was ugly?

he likes you. simple as that. alot of teenage boys act retarded like that cause they are chicken to tell you how they really feel. that is how my boyfriend is all the time...!
