That's what they do!! Generally my babies (and most others I know) pretty much sleep for the first 2-3weeks. then its like they just wake up, they are more alert and stay awake for longer in between feeds.
Be grateful for the slepp, My last child doesn't sleep much, she's 11 months old now and still only sleeps 2-3hours at a time, even at night!
You're baby will start to 'wake up' soon and that little personality will start to shine through.

She is SUPPOSED to sleep a LOT right now....LOL...i cant wait until until she turns one and she is AWAKE all the time and you are wondering why??? LOL at this point she is awake long enough to eat....and if she isnt...you do have to wake her up! She should nurse every 2 - 3 hours for AT LEAST 10 minutes (let her go as long as she wants to ) but AT LEAST 10 minutes of sucking...awake time. and every 3 -4 hours at night (day is a 12 hour period and so is night) bottle-fed baby will take even less time to feed....let her sleep! enjoy it while you can!

It is totally normal. Newborns sleep anywhere from 16 to 22 hours a day. Don't worry about it and enjoy it now because as she gets older she will be awake much more. Congrats!!

I'd say it's kind of normal. Babies sleep a lot. But you could try calling the hospital to talk to a nurse real quick for advice.

Don't worry, just as others have said, its true, sounds perfectly normal. Your newborn is resting up to keep you on you toes sooner than you think, so take advantage and rest with her. By the way, someone once said (Ithink is cute)You can't wait for them to walk and talk, and then you tell them to sit down and be quiet!
