Hi I am 16.
My best bud is throwing a party tonite. There will be the most popular kids of our school and I cant miss it. There will be drugs I overheard Ted (my friend) talking about it over the phone. I dont know what to do. If I go, I will have to get high with Ted and his buddies because If I dont I feel like they wwont be friends with me and they will tease me and since the schools most populars will be there, I would be pronounced as a geek for as long as my highschool life.
I have taken the possibility not to go to my consideration but heres the thing: There is a test tomorrow and if I dont come they ll come to the conclusion that I am studying for it instead of the party, they ll call me a nerd definitely since they have started joking about it.
I have really messed things up in my old school. Every day I was picked at and called a geek. I think I will take my chances with the drugs. I will just take only little. But I still I need a few words of advice to confirm my plan

Don't let anyone pressure you into doing anything you don't want to.
EVER
Cool is an internal thing, it's what you KNOW you are.. NOT what other people THINK you are... trust me on this.
You can:
1.Tell your friend that because of the test your parents are cracking down and they won't let you out (besides, what sort of idiot throws a big party on a school night?).
2.Go to the party, just say no. Anyone gives you any flack just tell them to chillax.
3. Go to the party, tell anyone who offers that you are allergic, had a bad reaction or such and had to go to the hospital - happened before at your old school... la, la, la... this was my major tactic when I was in high school - especially when dealing with strangers at a party.
4. Re-evaluate your friends and your definition of popular. If that's what it takes to be popular in this crowd WHY do you want to be part of it.
5. Just be yourself 100% as hard as you can at all times.
By the way... once you get older and more secure, you will realize that most of the really interesting people who are worth knowing are a bit odd, a bit geeky, and that cool equals different, not cookie cutter sameness.

Are you a complete and total dumbass???
First, if you KNOW you don't need to be doing something, why are you even asking us, complete strangers, if you SHOULD do what you KNOW you shouldn't!?!
Second, your "friends" don't have to live your life or deal with the consequences of YOUR actions, so why should you care if they call you a geek or not?
Third, if there's a test tomorrow, you study for it and pass, and do well in this class, then good for you, and if your "friends" don't like it, then piss on them!
In closing, you don't need to conform just because everybody else, or at least the most popular kids in your school are doing it...if it's not right for YOU, then it's just not right! Pull your head out of your *** and realize that...the sooner you do that, the better!

It's much better to be called a nerd and a geek than risk the possibility of giving into temptation and getting wasted or high. Being made fun of is better than going to the hospital or even dying because of taking drugs. Who cares what they think? They don't run your life. Trust me, later in life you'll be thankful you didn't go.

Drugs sucks, listen dude...whatever people say or do should not be what you do or say. I know it's hard to live under peer pressure (17, junior in high school), but this will eventually go away. I mean are these drugs or cool friends gonna do anything for your life, besides giving you trouble? I dont think so. Please don't do it, it will just ruin your live and it will make you feel weak because you let other people decide what you want to do.

don't do the drugs just cause you want them to think your cool, if they won't except you for saying no then they were never your friends to begin with.
Real friends don't make you do anything that can harm you or make you go against your own judgement.

whatever you do, DO NOT do them! drugs can mess up your life! don't you think that you deserve more than to get high with the 'popular' people who think they are cool because they take drugs? that is messed up. don't do it. you have no idea how much you will regret it in the future. mark my words.

I commend you. I would say to them I would rather be a successful nerd instead of a druggie loser who is throwing their life away! Good for you. Is so nice to hear that you stand for yourself.
