The curriculum at my old High School had no room for expansion. There were at least 3-4 levels of a single course anyone could take from general to college to honors to AP. If expansion was necessary, It should be focused in the science fields. If America is to continue keeping up with other technologically advanced nations of the world, the sciences need to be a top priority. English courses (In my opinion) could even be set back a little to make room for these improvements. For all the years you learn about poetry and transcendentalism, one could actually learn something that they can use the rest of their lives, rather that something less than 5% of the population Will use.
