As you have become aware of, out thoughts control our emotions. Think about something sad, we feel sad, think about something happy, we feel happy. RET (Rational Emotive Thinking) is a type of therapy invented by Albert Ellis. His basic premise is to change you interpretation of an event to change the emotion. For instance, you say something bad happens which is obviously something someone else did or said, then you feel bad. So I suggest you don't take someone else's bad words or action as personal. Think that the other person must be in a bad mood, and you don't have to suffer with them. You can sympathise with that person, but why should it change your mindset, your mood? It is their problem, not yours. Hope this helps.

Hi daze & confused!!!
Yes, one can control, moods and emotions. It all depends where are you, what is the motive, which emotion, whom are you with at the time, etc.
There are a lot of factors that will determine, the level of control, for the different kind of moods/ emotion. So is possible only if the person have self control!!!
GOD BLESS YOU, GOOD LUCK & HAPPY LIFE

Yes, definitely. If you are very mad, try running around to clear off this bad mood.

I'm sure someone with a lot of self control can. But everyone has breakdowns. When I get like how you are describing, I just want to sleep. Sleep away all my concerns.

Yes, other people will think I'm in whatever mood I want them to think I'm in. It's harder to psych myself out of a mood but I can do it, unless I'm very depressed... that's rough.

It's hard, but it's not impossible.
We can't stop bad things from happening, but we can control how we respond to them.
