No. Some has to have the authority to decide whether a law is constitutional or not--which is basically all the Court does--that and mke sure that other laws are also implemented the way they are supposed to do. but the Court only heaars appeals cases--it can't initiate legal action; it can onlydecide cases when it's acsked to.
The reason you hear so much about "the Court having too much power" is simple. Needlesst to say, major cases that involve questions about constitutionality get people super worked up. And if you look back through the history, you'll find that every time someone complains about the Court's power, its because they didn't like a decision the Court handed down--and that applies to "liberals" as well as "conservatives." In short--that particular complaint is always nothing but sour grapes.

Yes, their is a lot of abuse in our court system.I have seen and heard in court where they tell the judge their passed offenses. This makes the Judge to the Judge the person on his passed priors offenses. I think that the Judge should not know any thing on his or her pass offense. This way the Judge and jury can judge the person on this present crime. Also I think that the police that are involed should show proof of what they are telling in the court room. I have wittness a social work lieing in court and falsiflying the paper work. I have also wittness not telling the full truth and the judge falls for it. An ordinary person word is no good over a police office or social service worker. I have wittness the fact that the Judge are more leanent for some and not for others. Example I went to court the police brought this man in. I would say that he was in his middle 20's,any way. The D.A. told the Judge that This was his 3rd offense of armed robbery and that he feels realy bad about it . The man got up and said your honor I will not do that again. He said that he was trying to change his life. The Judge told him that he could go and that if he ever seen him in his court room again he would throw the book at him. Know if that was some one the D.A. didn't know or the Judge or he didn't have a lot of money That person would have had the book slap at them. I know this because it happen to my family members. Right now they are trying to accuse a person of selling . When that person does not sell drugs. They were told by some one that was in trouble for durgs and the grand net told her that if she gave a name of a person name that they would let her go. So she gave a name of a person that she didn't like. So now they offered that person the same deal. She told them no because she was not around that type of people. That she has heard of some of the people name that does, but that she never seen it with her own eyes. This person is fighting the charges. The head of the grand net said that he was going to tell the in court that she was sold to him. Now this woman has children and they don't care if her children or effected or not. I have seen and heard alot in the court rooms. My opinion The police, social service, and the Judge has two much power over the people.

When they rule against a groups' interest, that group always cries the court is legislating from the bench. If congress wants to enact a law that is unconstitutional, they should amend the constitution first. Both parties have complained about the judicial system since our country was founded. checks and balances, checks and balances.

Yes. Their constitutional power is to interpret laws. The have been making & sometimes even executing laws for a long time. I don't like so much power in the hands of unaccountable judges. It's anti democratic.

Not as badly as the Executive branch has, lately. Otherwise, the Judicial branch would be doing more about the Constitutional breaches that have been taking place.

It's not supposed to "exert" powers at all. It is supposed to only interpret the law.

They have way overstepped their legal duties. They are making "new laws" to suit their liberal ties and are using foreign laws ( a BIG no. no!) as basis for their decisions. They should be impeached and arrested for those crimes!
