yes becoase in the back to the future bonus materails they were interveiwing micheal and he said that he had to learn how to play the guitar and skateboard and ride a horse and shoot a gun to be in the whole trilogy.hope this helps.

I doubt it...if you watch his fingers on the chords, they barely move, and the songs that he plays look like they require a bit more than a single chord to be held...
But what do I know, I don't play the guitar!!!!!!!

I really don't know this answer for sure, but by the looks of his fingers on the guitar chords, I would say no.
