Purevolume is my most favorite place to hear new music. Everything from pop to heavy metal. Also, some songs from various artists are even available for free download.

Another site I love is called Pandora. It allows you to listen to songs from your favorite artists and based on whether or not you like the song, the site will play similar music from similar artists.

Happy listening! ♥

If you really want to branch out, try this: Find a band you like. I picked Death Cab. Find their official site, and then look up their links. They'll usually have a whole list of other band's sites, and you can get in touch with a wide range of unheard of music, most of which is pretty good. My Death Cab "chain" led me to Tristan Prettyman, which led me to The Southland, and I am now a die-hard fan. Most of the musicians they link to are similar to them, musically, and yet sometimes you might find a new style of music that you like.

My local record shop, , has sound samples on their site.

Also be sure to check out , where they divide things up by genre of music and also feature editors and writers recommendations.

You could also try reading reviews at and then searching for song samples...

cheers,
