I only ask because I live almost ten miles from a grocery store, but only two miles from a Subway restaurant. I walk everywhere so it would be helpful.

The Oregon Trail Card can only be used at businesses that have the card reader for the program - notably grocery stores. I commend you for wanting to walk to get your groceries. If you live close enough to a Subway restaurant, there should also be public transportation in your area (CCAT or Dial-A-Ride) that would get you to the grocery store, but even these programs often cost to use them. There are programs available that should be able to help with transportation or perhaps you could find someone else who lives nearby who you could ride with when they go shopping.

FS can NOT buy HOT or prepared foods.. It sucks I know.. because when you run out of stamps you have to use cash so it's not like you are CHEATING the system.. Some restaurants are cheaper than buying all the things individually to make recipes.. Sorry
