Yes. This is definitely a sign of infection. She should call her OB immediately to see how they want to handle it. She may need an antibiotic. She should not wait because the infection could get much worse and impact the internal incision too.
I had 2 c-sections and the incision should be looking better at 5 weeks (just redness around the stitches) but there should not be puss...Hope this helps.

Take her to the doc. Puss bubbles after five weeks does not sound good. It sounds like she may have an infection. Seeing a doctor will put your mind at ease.

yes it could be infected but at nearly 6 weeks a good deal of healing should have occurred to start with so she may have sensitive skin and is getting pustules from the adhesive on tape shes using for covering it etc... call your doc and in the meantime apply triple antibiotic ointment to the area and see if that helps, also let it breathe a bit in the open air. A good natural anti bacterial is olive leaf extract....its available in most vitamin isles/health food stores...that will help her system fight anything.

What your wife has sounds like a problem. I would say that it's either scabs from the incision or she has an infection. I would get to a walk in clinic or a doctor soon.

My daugther had a c-section and she had an infection but had to get medication because it was so sensitive and redness set in around that general area. Before infection sets in you should at least call a local pharmacist; they've given me great advice. Treat it before it gets worse.

unlikely to be normal probably infected, could be a foreign body reaction to internal sutures. sometimes they do not dissolve quickly. would probably avoid the e r. have the doc check the incision in the am. no one will be able to tell you without actually seeing it, and whoever did the surgery really needs to see it if it is not healing well.

I agree with the other answers. This is an infection and she needs to see her doctor.
