i am a junior in highschool what can i do to make it easier for me to be a doctor. I know volunteering is important, already done it in a hospital, what else can i do now? i know wanting to be a doctor is easier said then done and i am only in high school, but i fear that when i am in college or whatever i might be missing something. i would like to stay ahead if possible really ahead, what can i do to make myself more valuable than others wanting to do the same career.

thanks

You say you've already volunteered? Well keep on volunteering. Also, take lots of math, science and advanced math and science courses. And keep up with your grades. Not just average, but WAY BETTER than average. The higher the better. It will make it much easier for you to get into the college of your choice, and you might even be lucky enough to get a scholarship. Becoming a Dr. is one expensive education. Good luck.

Study hard, stressing mathematics, biological sciences, and chemistry.

Med school takes a TON of money - you might start searching now for any and all scholarships that you might qualify for.
