That is funny. You almost went too far, but you stopped at the perfect point.

Hydrogen Peroxide works well.
However, if you are trying to conceal evidence, I would recommend replacing the entire carpet, then disposing of the bloody carpet in another city, in a dumpster. Or taking it out to the desert and burning it.
If the blood went through to the floorboards, forget cleaning or replacement, and save all of your money for a good defense attorney.

Open the window and let flies in. They will feed on the blood but not the carpet. In a few days, all the blood will be gone. You'll have to find another way to deal with the flies though. Maybe you can hire an old lady...

cut off your hair and wear the shampoo for two weeks
er just buy a piece of carpet the size of the blood stain
cut the blood stain in a square cut
and seam the piece you bought to your big already laid carpet and BAM! it will take a knife and a seaming iron and seam tape and a weight to hold down the glue and a trackter too make the piece of carpet straight it wont take long if you have these tools
but if you dont, have fun with it!;)

According to CSI (I'm a huge fan!!) - bleach masks blood under the UV light. So make sure you clean the WHOLE are, not just where the blood pool is.
