That greatly depends on what you're playing. Some games run better with ATI, others nVidia. You can get a reference from performance at this website:
http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html
The comparisons can be run between different cards with alternating applications and games.
The comparisons are for PCIE cards not AGP however the performance gaps between the relevant chipsets should be about the same and can be a good indicator of what card to buy.

lol...a whole lot of people are going for 7800 GS..guess u people hate ATI...well why didnt u guys provide back up proof which is better huh?
as far as i can say i am myself a graphic card expert and i will help you out
if your planning for gaming you can choose either one...i have never tried Nvidia but there good..i always use ATI
Here is the review for ATI x1650 pro and 7800 nvidia
ATI x1650 nvidia 7800
Chipset Manufacturer
ATI
Nvidia
GPU
Radeon X1650PRO
GeForce 7800GS
Core clock
590MHz
400MHz
PixelPipelines
12
16
Memory
Memory Clock
1380MHz
1250MHz
Memory Size
512MB
256MB
Memory Interface
128-bit
256-bit
Memory Type
GDDR2
GDDR3
as you can see the ati x1650 has more memory...than the nvidia 7800gs..look at the memory clock speed (which you probably would want to worry about if your planning for speed and gaming) the x1650 is blasting it away but bad thing its memory type is GDDR2..... GDDR3 is alot better for performance but another thing u can see is that the x1650 speed is 590mhz and the nvidia is 400mhz (see the difference 100 mhz can make a big difference) and x1650 has 12 pipelines and 7800gs has 16 for better performance...though 12 is alot ...16 is even better. but rating the grahpic card for overall performance it is surely the ATI x1650 for its speed

The ATI graphic cards has more 3D graphic features than GeForce of the same class.
ATI is relatively more expensive than GeForce.
Based on the above consideration, I would go for ATI.
But ATI has one major downside, its graphic driver is less stable than GeForce.
So its better to have GeForce instead. Otherwise you would need to be ready for game lock-ups.
The GF7800 which is the latter model should be the one you should have (I would).
Of course, if your pocket can't handle it, get the GF7600 instead.

The 7800GS and 7600GT are basically the same speed. The 7600GT is a newer, lower-cost, lower-power-requirement card that nVidia released to replace the older 7800GS. The X1650 Pro is in a lower price bracket and is slower than both of those.

the 7800 is more of a gamer's card. The other 2 are budget low end cards, don't waste your time with those. You should go with a 7900, not a 7800, and make sure it has a 256 bit bus on the card.

NICE CHEAP WAY TO ADVERTISE.
Plus i do not know anyone who would spend good money on a card for its appearance ? Read the links you placed and make up your own mind. Cuz it depends what you want to do!
