It was on air in the uk around 1985 and featured a kid who was exiled from his home planet to live on earth(something to do with hiding him from some evil guy). He had a 'floating' robot companion which was a cross between ET and a flying saucer, but in order to hide his identity he told people it was a ghetto blaster. He was persued by a similar but 'evil' version of his robot (you could tell it was evil because it was a bit more siniste looking and angular) which was never far behind him but never actually manage to catch him. Please help me, as 5 years of trawling t'internet had not answered this question for me and it's starting to drive me mad, mainly cos nobody else seems to remember what i'm banging on about.

Sounds like Benji Zack and the Alien Prince. Did it involve a dog somewhere? I always mixed it up a bit with the Littlest Hobo as the two shows had a similar feel and were on telly around the same time.
