The problem is that one is junior to another, if I bypass the junior boss to the senior boss the junior boss did not like that. If I go thru with the junior boss it takes time to make immediate decision. I am frustrated....

Oh, I hear ya. I report to a manager, who reports to a district manager, who reports to a Vice-President, who reports to a CEO.

Try getting anything major decided upon in the next ten minutes!

I shouldn't really complain -- the only time I encounter issues is with big decisions. Other than that, all the day-to-day operations of the company can be decided by my immediate manager. That's accountability in a large organization. As far as I'm concerned, every person who has someone reporting to them should be encouraged to make competent decisions regarding the daily functioning of their department. If your junior boss cannot do this (either because s/he is incapable, or because s/he is not allowed to), you need to look at how the company as a whole is run, and decide if that's really where you want to work.

Chain of command

Find out what it is...

The senior boss pays a Jr to take care of things below ..
Thus you are to report to that Jr exe.
Thats what the Jr exe expects-and deserves.

You would be wise to heed that...
You would expect the same as second in charge.

Else you might be passed over-money wise and job wise--
Follow chain of command--like it or not and you will greatly benefits-- butter up the Jr and you will see PLUS + PLUS.

it sounds horrible and it is horrible to work for two bosses... basically it's a lose-lose situation. You will spend all of your time trying to re-format things to please whichever boss you will see next and productivity will fall, as priorities change constantly... run, if you can...

my thoughts and prayers are with you!

try to work around them. find out how they work when the other is not there and when with them you will know what to do. i have three different managers to report and each one likes things a different way.
