Which is your favorite (and "none of the above" is not an option)? Personally I love Family Guy and always will - Stewie kicks butt, but I think American Dad goes one step further pushing the issues and the "how far can we go" criteria for most adult animations (cartoons).

They're both great. There are bits i like from both. But I have to say, Family guy, I think, is better.
Rodger in Ammerican Dad is a brillient character, definately better than stewie.

Family Guy all the way. There is no comparison... Family Guy is actually funny while American Dad is ok to watch ..its's not filled with the jokes like Family Guy. Plus the Stewie and Brian bits are awesome !!!

I'd have to say that while American Dad does push the issues of how far animation can go on prime time tv, that it still doesn't measure up to the real life (and not so real life) issues confronted in Family Guy. FG has more down to earth ideas, and maintains a comedy standard that AD can't match.
And after all - you don't see South Park doing a bit about AD the way they did with Family Guy.....
(Although for a close runner up to Family Guy I'd have to nominate Drawn Together)

I have to go with the majority here, Family Guy is by far the better show, that's why it's on 3 channels not just 1

Family Guy...it reminds me of the 80's cartoon "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home" if you remember that. I have not seen it in re-runs...probably not PC enough.
