Question 1: The helicopter is tied to a high level career (military and business).

Question 2: Yes, it's possible to buy one, but only for decorative purposes. It won't actually work http://www.modthesims2.com/quicksearch.php?tag=helicopter

Question 3: University, Nightlife, and Open for Business introduced new hairstyles, however at the above link you can find all kinds of hairstyles (and links to other hairstyles) that are truly awesome. (The downloads at the above link are free downloads).

Question 4: I have all the expansion packs and I love all of them. It's hard to choose which one I like best, but if I had to pinpoint one or two, I'd say Nightlife and the current one, Pets.

Question 5: The object in that screenshot is from the Nightlife expansion pack.

Question 6: You can do the same thing with the Sims 2 as you can do with Life Stories. However, the Life Stories one plays more like a console game and is laptop friendly. Therefore, it's good especially if you have a laptop. The regular Sims 2 and expansions demands more power, so a desktop is the better choice.
