25k bail for possible attempted murder seems awfully slight to me! I don't think the average person would have gotten out so easily - which infuriates me! Why should she get special treatment?

She had a JOB that she was PRIVILEGED to have and be HONORED with - this does not make one a hero!

Plus, she had ample money and opportunity to seek the best of help available for her 'mental breakdown' - if in fact, that is what has happened to her.

Ask me, her only mental problems emanate from the fact that she is spoiled, has most likely been over-glorified by her family/society/surroundings and is thus, infused by her own feelings of self-importance and entitlement .

If it was you or I that did that.....
A. It may or may not make the headlines
B. Bail would be impossible to come up with, if any at all
C. We'd be in jail, tied up in red tape, waiting to go to trial, which could take months(year?)
D. We'd be appointed a public defender and not a high priced lawyer that would look for loopholes, we'd be just "another have to defend case"
E. thrown in jail, and the key thrown away.......then sued!!!!
She may have been an Astronaut, which took so many years to train for, but she blew it. Not only is she an embarrassment to her own family, but to the whole United States Space Program....I'll bet other countries, especially the ones who hate us, are looking at her/us like a joke!!!! She had "intent" to harm this other woman, considering what all she had with her, plus a disguise...which meant she was going to try to get away with what we all know she was going to do....I feel sorry for her husband and kids, and other family members....not her.....

First of all, the attempted murder charge has to be proven. And I think she deserves special treatment because of what she has accomplished. You can't assess what had gone wrong in her mind, that has to be left to specialists. And about "average" persons, that I know of, no average people can get jobs in NASA.
People are judging before they even know facts, assssss usual.

Perhaps yes she is getting a little leniency but for someone of that high caliber to go to those depths was obviously a mental meltdown. I don't think we should pre-judge this american hero who until this emotional breakdown of judgement was held in the highest esteem.
I am sure there will be more than meets the eye when it is all said and done.

I doubt it's spcial treatment. She's not exactly in a position to flee---she's too well known.

And while you'r being so superior and judgemental--you might try a little compassion. She is obviously having severe psychological problems and isn't fully competant--her actions are proof of that--to put it mildly.
