Bush has added incomprehensible debt to our great nation. Where Clinton not only balanced the budget, but gave us a huge surplus, Bush has bankrupted our nation. When the government is forced to start seizing our property to pay off the Chinese, you'll know why you should have protested the budget deficits.

Neither Republicrats nor Democans really care about the national debt or about the deficit - which is nothing more than the interest payment. Both parties care only about redistributing capital in a fashion that curries political favor and power. Party rhetoric is really just a reflection of tribalism. At the core, both parties are the same. The only difference is the choice-du-jour of where to waste the money.

There are more important questions, such as:
1. Why do we have any debt at all?
2. Who is the beneficiary of the interest?
3. What events in history triggered our turn towards a debtor nation?

We complain about the deficit because it IS WRONG! You should be complaining about Pelosi's spending because it IS WRONG!

Rather we should both be agreeing that some deficit spending is OK, even good people have mortgages, but too much is too much, just like credit card debt.'

We should also agree that anyone in government who spends money like a pig should be called to task and probably removed by the voters, the queen is a perfect example.

I pray each night that the the edges of both our parties can form a strong middle to protect us against BOTH fringes!

What a dumb, slanted question. Republicans complained about the deficit under Carter, Clinton for years. Clinton erased it.
You are going to bag on a Pelosi plane when Bush and Cheney have been pilfering taxpayers for billions?
Get a clue and a better slanted question.

Define "wherever she wants." I assume you mean her trips on official business as required by her role as Speaker of the House? such as those to the Middle East?

The costs are incurred by the person holding the position, the fact that she happens to be a Democrat is irrelevant to her job description. An elected position by which her constituents entitled her to a portion of the congressional budget, like anyone else.

As we can obviously not trust the intelligence provided by the Bush Administration - and I don't mean national intelligence, because they apparently pay no mind to that at all - it seems only natural that she felt it necessary to travel there in person.

Here doesn't matter if you are a citizen and for who you vote, the problem here is that any government official who overspend money is using OUR MONEY (TAXPAYER) and you should complain also. Think that with the huge deficit that we have now, even your great grandchildren (still unborn) have to pay for the Bush administration. What calls my attention is that all that people who says "liberals" don't care about the country finances. Democrats or Republicans should be worry for the deficit, affects your money and your future.

I dont know if some of you have noticed, but having such a large deficit is not good. What is wrong with trying to fix something for the good of the country? And liberals have complete right to complain after what Bush has done to this country.

How can politicians call them selves 'conservatives' and embrace deficit spending when the hallmark of American conservatism for over a two hundred years was fiscal responsibility and balanced budgets? The great conservative Barry Goldwater must be doing cartwheels in his grave. I can only conclude that today's socalled conservatives are actually closet borrow and spend liberals.

And the $500 Billion Bush has spent on the Iraq war was a good investment of US taxpayer money? If Pelosi can help stop the war by gathering as much info as possible from trips to Iraq and thus stopping Bush from using his blank check for Iraq, I don't care if she flies on the Space Shuttle to get to Iraq and back.
